"Global Citizens Network"
Image Global Citizens Network "Global Citizens Network is a non-profit organization with two part-time staffers and many friends who volunteer their time in a variety of ways. We welcome your interest and energy. Global Citizens Network board members all have extensive experience in international travel and development, and have led trips to the Caribbean, East Africa, Central America, the South Pacific, Eastern Europe, and India.

Global Citizens Network, strives to develop creative and effective local solutions to global problems by providing opportunities for individuals to interact with people of diverse cultures who share common global values. GCN recognizes the interdependence of people around the world. Social and economic injustice, racial and ethnic inequality, and ecological loss affect all people. But through cooperative effort, individuals of all cultures can enhance their ability to make a difference locally and globally.

To foster that cooperation, Global Citizens Network sends teams of volunteers to communities in indigenous cultures throughout the world. Participants immerse themselves in the culture and daily life of the community. Each volunteer team partners with a local grassroots organization active in meeting local needs. Global Citizens Network creates a worldwide network of people and organizations committed to addressing global issues.

By providing participants the opportunity to learn about the society, knowledge, art and livelihood of other cultures, Global Citizens Network seeks to honor and help preserve those cultures. By providing volunteers and project grants to partner communities, Global Citizens Network fosters human and community development in those cultures. By creating a network of people and organizations, Global Citizens Network seeks to enhance participants' impact on issues of local and global concern." ... more

"So what is the secret to discovering your passion, achieving your dream career, pursuing a lifelong interest, or just doing something different (whether or not it relates to your career)? Simply ask yourself, "Does the opportunity have heart?" If not, what could you do that does? In other words, begin your journey by doing things that naturally harmonize with your values, skills, abilities, and God-given talents."
Face "Create a vision—your game plan for your personal path through life—then map out how you'll get there. If you haven't found out already, you'll learn that the things you do right now affect who you will become in the future.

Although "discovering your passion" and "achieving your dream career" sound like far-fetched goals, remember that every journey starts with one step. Think about your path step-by-step. Yes, it's a long process, but it will also be filled with exploration, adventure, and fulfillment that you can feel with each step, knowing you're on your way. It's also important to realize that every new path you take is an opportunity to create, learn, grow, and stretch while exploring life's possibilities—whether or not it leads to a dream career.

Too often we decide to follow a path that is not really our own; one that others have set for us. We forget that whichever way we go, the price is the same: in both cases we will pass through both difficult and happy moments. But when we are living our dream, the difficulties we encounter make sense. —Paulo Coelho

When you try something new, your mind, body, and soul stretch and never go back to their original shape. Opening the back door to your future is really about growing and gravitating toward something that brings meaning to your life. Each experience will move you in new directions that you never imagined before you came up with the idea. You'll also find that these experiences are shaping your life—pushing and pulling you in different directions—until eventually you find something that really rocks your world. Just like getting on a train and picking up momentum—your life will gain momentum and get better and better. That is, if you work hard at it." ... more
SummerJobs.com logo
"Founded in 1996, SummerJobs.com has been working for well over a decade to provide employers easy access to a wide, targeted audience of summer job seekers. As a niche on-line job board our mission here at SummerJobs.com is simple – to provide an easy to use, simple forum where summer employers and job seekers can connect with one another.

Each year over 2 million high school students, college students, and recent graduates from around the US visit SummerJobs.com as part of their summer job search.

SummerJobs.com site has always been free for young job seekers to use. We also understand the financial constraints of small businesses and most seasonal employers and have always kept our job posting prices accessible while providing the best value possible.

So instead, I went in search of educational resources that would allow me to customize a program that would suit the needs of my children and still accomodate my pocketbook.

There is little that is more valuable or exciting for a teenager, high school student or college student than the different work experiences available during the summer. A summer job helps to pay the bills and is often a necessity, but it also provides our youth with the opportunity to learn new skills, meet people from different cultures, travel to interesting, far-away places and to get a taste of what working life might be like in a future career. SummerJobs.com allows a summer job seeker to explore opportunities both locally and across the US, Canada and the world. Likewise, we allow employers to draw from a pool of adventure-seeking job seekers from far and wide.

SummerJobs.com shares its philosophy with its partner sites in the AboutJobs.com Network, which includes InternJobs.com (internships), OverseasJobs.com (professional positions abroad), InternationalJobs.com (professional positions with an international spin, both in the US and abroad) and ResortJobs.com (ski resorts, cruise ships, national parks, hotels, spas and worldwide resorts). Visit our other sites and explore a new world of career opportunities." ... more
Banner Moms Network
"Moms Network started out as an organization for work at home moms that was founded in December, 1997 by Cyndi Webb. Cyndi saw the need and desire for supporting and promoting moms who work out of their home. As a work at home mom herself, she was frustrated with the limited resources available to moms who work from home.

Cyndi's vision was to offer work at home moms an avenue to gain exposure for their business while at the same time building relationships with other work at home moms. Her strong desire to offer work at home moms the spotlight that they need in order to grow their business, is relevant in the many free and low cost advertising choices offered through Moms Network. The idea was to grow Moms Network into a busy and high traffic site and let the work at home mom ride on the tails of it's success. The more eyes brought to the Moms Network community, the more eyes that would see the products and services of these hard working moms.

Over the past 11 years Moms Network has expanded to become a vast community of resources for ALL moms, not only work at home moms. With more than 25 websites available and growing, addressing all sorts of interests (cooking, coupons, online games, auctions, children’s activities, crafts and more), Moms Network has been able to reach hundreds of thousands of moms worldwide. Their online newsletter base has grown to more than 440,000 subscribers and the Moms Network community of websites receive over 4 million page views per month.

Our Mission:
Moms Network is dedicated to offering the tools, resources and networking that moms need in balancing the important areas of their life. Moms Network is built on the belief that we learn and grow most from each other and the relationships we build both personally and professionally. We have, and continue to strive at offering an interactive and supportive atmosphere for moms working at home. Moms network currently operates approximately 25 websites (see below) all offering unique content and interests, which opens the door to a larger population of women, for the work at home mom to be able to showcase her business to..." more
