" Aquaflow Bionomic
Corporation has set itself the objective to be the first
company in the world to economically produce biofuel from wild
algae harvested from open-air environments, to market it, and
meet the challenge of increasing demand.
The Technology
ABC harvests algae directly from the settling ponds of standard
Effluent Management (EM) Systems and other nutrient-rich water.
The process can be used in many industries that produce a waste
stream, including the transport, dairy, meat and paper industries.
The two-step process firstly optimises the ponds' productive
capacity, and secondly, determines the most efficient and economic
way of harvesting the pond algae. Algae are provided with full
opportunity to exploit the nutrients available in the settling
ponds, thereby cleaning up the water. The algae are then harvested
to remove the remaining contaminant. A last stage of bio-remediation,
still in development, will ensure that the water discharge from
the process exceeds acceptable quality standards... more

" XL Renewables, Inc.
is a renewable energy innovation company focused on the large-scale
production of algae biomass and the development of integrated
biorefinery projects.(...)
The Biorefinery Solution & Strategy Integrating Production
Agriculture with Industrial Processes The generic term "biorefinery" has greater meaning
when you consider the XL Biorefinery Project. As we see the
decline of the oil age and shift to renewable fuels, our society
must take steps to achieve efficiency, minimize the environmental
impact, and optimize production by co-locating what used to
be separate processes.
Algae - The Future of Feedstock Providing Fuel and
Protein for a Growing Population
For the deserts of Arizona and similar regions around the world,
it is the belief of XL that Algae holds the greatest promise
as a Biorefinery feedstock. As a replacement for corn and other
grains, algae biomass has some real advantages. Microscopic
algae use a photosynthesis process similar to that of higher-developed
plants, however algae is much more efficient grows faster. In
addition to rampant growth, they also have the ability to consume
greenhouse gasses and remediate wastewater creating the opportunity
for large-scale and versatile adaptation to existing infrastructure.

" Algae are the fastest-growing
plants in the world. Like other plants, they use photosynthesis
to harness sunlight and carbon dioxide, creating high-value
compounds in the process. Energy is stored inside the cell as
lipids and carbohydrates, and can be converted into fuels such
as biodiesel and ethanol. Proteins produced by algae make them
valuable ingredients for animal feed.
GreenFuel uses a portfolio of technologies to profitably recycle
CO2 from smokestack, fermentation, and geothermal gases via
naturally occurring species of algae. Algae can be converted
to transportation fuels and feed ingredients or recycled back
to a combustion source as biomass for power generation. Industrial
facilities need no internal modifications to host a GreenFuel
algae farm. In addition, the system does not require fertile
land or potable water." ... more
Global
Green Solutions Inc. is rapidly becoming a worldwide
leader in the development of alternative energy resources and
greenhouse gas reduction technology.
Vertigro, Global Green Solutions'
algae-to-biofuel technology mass produces algae and extracts
the algae oil. The oil can then be refined into a cost-effective,
non-polluting diesel biofuel. The algae derived fuel will be
an energy efficient replacement for fossil fuels and can be
used in any diesel powered vehicle or machinery.
OriginOil’s
patent-pending, technology can provide the world with an endless
supply of cost-competitive and environment-friendly oil to displace
petroleum.
OriginOil’s breakthrough
technology, based on algae, is targeted at fundamentally changing
the world’s source of oil without disrupting the environment
or food resources. An endless supply of this new oil can be
used in many of products like diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, plastics
and solvents without the global warming effects of petroleum.
Operating at the Micron Level
Unlike many approaches to algae oil cultivation, OriginOil is
employing a next-generation technology by working at the microscopic
scale. This scale unlocks many properties of biology, chemistry
and physics that can massively enhance the efficiency of algae
production as a high-yield, cost-competitive replacement for
petroleum.
OriginOil’s industrial process,
with its proprietary devices and methods, optimizes all these
variables to help algae cells grow at their natural maximum
rate – accomplishing a doubling of the algae population in as
little as a few hours. The same process then manages the oil-generating,
harvesting and extraction cycles... more

Valcent Products Inc. (OTCBB: VCTPF) introduces its revolutionary
High Density Vertical Growth (HDVG) system, now producing

food costs caused by transportation/fuel costs spiraling upwards
with the cost of oil. Together with higher cost comes a reduction
in availability and nutritional values in the food we consume.
Texas Clean Fuels (TCF)
is an alternative energy / clean tech startup based on the concept
of using photosynthetic microorganisms as a new fuel source.
The United States Department of Energy conducted a research
project on this concept during the 1970s-1990s, which concluded
that algae-oil can be produced from CO2 primed open ponds at
a cost of $60 - $127 per barrel, depending on assumptions. TCF is developing a new technology that improves on the
work of the USDOE. TCF's 100% owned, patent pending technology
is called the Micro-Organism Production System ("MOPS"). When
attached to a fixed source of concentrated CO2, like the emissions
stack of a coal burning electricity plant, the MOPS can economically
produce large quantities feedstock for biofuel production while
reducing the CO2 emissions of the host plant. In other words,
it "mops" up CO2, while producing microorganisms that can be
processed into feedstock for biofuel production. NEWS
September 27, 2007: TCF comments on competitor's results. Jonathan
Gal, Founder and President of TCF states, "Greenfuel Technologies'
results are impressive, but I firmly believe that our technology,
known as the MOPS, stands head and shoulders above all of our
competitors' technologies. I estimate that the MOPS can produce
algal biomass at more than twice the growth rate of these latest
Greenfuel results. At 222 grams per square meter per day, the
growth rate of the first generation MOPS is estimated to be
2.26 times greater than the 98 grams per square meter per day
reported yesterday by our competitor, GreenFuel Technologies...

enhance your bottom line by making it cost-effective and easy
for you to recycle and reuse resources.
GS CleanTech’s patented C02 Bioreactor reduces greenhouse gas
emissions while creating an additional feedstock for renewable
fuel production. If applied at ethanol facilities, it would
boost fuel production by more than 15%, and if applied to coal
fired power generation, it could produce more than 200 million
gallons of renewable fuel annually for every 1,000 MW of electricity
produced. Even more significant, however, is the relatively
small footprint of the bioreactor. While traditional corn derived
ethanol produces up to 450 gallons of fuel per acre, GS CleanTech’s
C02 Bioreactor can produce more than 200,000 gallons of fuel
per acre. With GS CleanTech’s C02 Bioreactor, our clients can
reduce their carbon footprint while turning their exhaust carbon
dioxide into a valuable source of clean, homegrown fuels."
